The Big Old Bulls Club is a conservation driven non-profit organisation dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Africa’s wilderness areas. We work to promote large-scale wilderness protection whilst spotlighting prestigious hunters, guides and outfitters, redefining ethical hunting as a force for good.

Across the continent, some of Africa’s most iconic animals—the great tuskers, heavy-horned buffalo, and mature bulls—are under increasing pressure. Habitat loss, expanding human populations, and rising human-wildlife conflict are steadily eroding the ecosystems that have sustained these animals for generations.

These old bulls are more than trophies. They are living proof of resilient, functioning wilderness—animals that have survived decades of drought, predators, and pressure. Their presence tells a story of balance. Their loss signals its decline.

We believe that ethical, well-managed hunting is a vital part of the conservation solution. By creating tangible value for wildlife and wild land, it generates the funding and incentive needed to protect these ecosystems long-term.

The Big Old Bulls Club exists to unite those who recognise this responsibility. Through membership, contributions, and the submission of qualifying animals, our community directly supports conservation initiatives across Africa—from mitigating human-wildlife conflict to restoring habitats and securing sustainable water sources.

Qualification Categories

Inducted membership to the Big Old Bulls Club is earned through the submission of a qualifying animal taken in one of our five recognised categories. Each entry must meet strict criteria, including age, size, and measurement thresholds, ensuring that only truly mature, exceptional animals are considered. This standard upholds the integrity of the Club, honouring not just the animal itself, but the experience, patience, and respect required to pursue it ethically, as well as honouring those who hunted them.
